Tour Overview

Tour Petra with private transport from Amman.  Enter Petra through the Siq, to arrive at the Treasury.  Continue to tour the Petra site to see the tombs, the Roman theater, and much more. This is an amazing tour that you shouldn't miss.

Itinerary

Petra is thousands of years old, and was inhabited by the Nabateans.  It was only recently discovered by the Western world, and since then tourists flock to see this site, which has since been named as "One of the seven wonders of the World".  Petra is located in the heart of the desert, in the mountains, that change to different colors according to the time of the day. The Siq, which is 1.2 km long, is on your entrance to Petra. Proceeding through the Siq, get your first look at the reason why Petra became so famous - the Treasury is absolutely an amazing site.  It is a facade that was carved into the sandstone.  In addition, hundreds of buildings, facades, crypts, baths, mourning halls, temples, and, of course, the Roman amphitheater of  three thousand seats built in the 1st century B.C., are there for you to see.

Early morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Amman at about 8:00 am, and drive to Petra.
Start the tour at the entrance, or the Siq (as it is called).  Tour Petra with an experienced licensed guide.

After visiting Petra you will have lunch at a local restaurant.

Early evening, we will drive back towards Amman where we will drop you off at your hotel, around 7:00 p.m.

Total time in Petra (sightseeing): around 4 hours
