Tour Northern Israel the Galilee, Golan, Caesarea and Nazareth for 4 days . Travel to see the amazing scenery, views, excavations, Churches, and even have a chance to be baptized in the Jordan River.
Nazareth resides in upper Israel and is its largest city. Nazareth is considered a holy city for Christians, and is the center for the pilgrimage. In 1918 St. Josephs Church was built over much older churches. The Church of Annunciation is one of the most famous churches, and the biggest in the Middle East.
Capernaum is in Northern Israel, and is a very religious place for the Christians. St. Peter once lived here, and it was said that Jesus taught here and it was the center of his ministry. Capernaum was a fishing village at one time.
Caeserea is in the middle of Haifa and Tel Aviv, and was once the capital of the Judean Province. There is an beautiful Roman Theater that is still used today for concerts and special events. In Caeserea there is a lot to see in the form of archeological sites.
Via the coastal plain and the valley of Armageddon to the Churches of Annunciation and St. Joseph in Nazareth. Passing Cana and the Church of the Miracle of the Multiplication visit Capernaum, at the foot of Mount Beatitudes. Continue past Tiberias to Yardenit where there is the possibility of a baptismal service for participants. Pass Mount Tabor on the return journey.
Day 2:
We leave north to Caesarea, the ancient Roman Capital and port. Walking tour of theater and archeological ruins and excavations. Continue to Haifa, Mt. Carmel, scenic view of Bahai garden, city and port. Drive to Rosh Hanikra to visit the limestone grottos and view border with Lebanon. Return via Acre to visit the Crusader underground city and crypt. Walk through the Old City market. Return to hotels.
Day 3:
Drive north along the coastal road,on route stop at overlook of Megiddo.Drive through the Jordan valley,stop at the Baptismal site on the Jordan River.Acsend to the Golan Heights with an overview from Hammat Gader of the triangular border with Syria,Jordan and Israel.Onwards to the city of Katzrin,the Talmudic capital of the Golan.Visit the ancient synagogue of Katzrin.Ascend Mt.Bental,overlook Kuneitra Valley and stop at former Syrian fortification.Descend to the Hula Valley for overnight stay in kibbutz hotel.
Day 4:
Take a short tour of a kibbutz settlement.Visit the Banyas Reserve (Caesarea Philippi) the source of the Jordan river - with its flowing icy waters.Then onto visit the crusader castle fortress Ka'alat Nimrod and then onto Birkat Ram a natural lake located on an extinct volcano at the foot of Mt.Hermon.Drive south to Safed to visit ancient synagogues and the artists quater.Return to hotels.
